In a press statement issued on Thursday, the council expressed concern over the ongoing clashes between Naga and Kuki communities since May 3, 2023, describing the situation as deeply disheartening and harmful to social stability.
The statement noted that repeated incidents of violence, including the use of firearms and verbal hostilities, have further weakened the fragile trust among communities. The council observed that meaningful reconciliation remains elusive without sincere efforts from both the public and the authorities.
