In a press statement issued on Tuesday, the authority alleged that individuals from T. Khullen crossed into the jurisdiction of South Changoubung without consent or authority during the course of the bandh.

According to the statement, the individuals reportedly obstructed public roads, disrupting the free movement of residents in and out of the village. It further alleged that they entered the village and attempted to compel local shopkeepers to shut down their establishments.

The village authority said such actions amounted to a violation of the village’s autonomy, dignity, and peaceful functioning, adding that coercion and intimidation were unacceptable and undermined mutual respect between neighbouring communities.

At the same time, the authority clarified that it holds no hostility toward the people of T. Khullen and does not oppose the bandh called by the United Naga Council. It stated that its concern arises solely from what it termed as the unauthorised intrusion into village territory and the alleged use of forceful and threatening behaviour against residents.

The authority has urged all concerned parties to exercise restraint, respect established boundaries, and uphold peaceful coexistence. It also called on the relevant authorities to take appropriate measures to prevent such incidents from recurring and to ensure the safety and rights of villagers.
