Union Minister Raj Bhushan Choudhary Reviews Development Works in Saitual

Saitual, April 8: Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti Raj Bhushan Choudhary paid an official visit to Saitual district on Tuesday, where he reviewed ongoing developmental activities, assessed the implementation of key government schemes, and interacted with government officials, local leaders, and stakeholders to understand the district’s needs and challenges.

The visit formed part of the Union Government’s efforts to monitor development initiatives at the grassroots level and strengthen coordination between central and state agencies. During his stay in the district, the minister held a comprehensive review meeting with officials from various government departments and representatives of local bodies.

At the meeting, departmental heads and local leaders highlighted several developmental priorities and challenges faced by the district. Discussions covered issues related to water supply, healthcare, infrastructure development, public service delivery, and other sectors crucial to the district’s growth.

Addressing the gathering, Raj Bhushan Choudhary assured participants of the Government of India’s continued support for the development of Saitual district. He reiterated his commitment to facilitating the implementation of development projects and ensuring that government schemes reach the people effectively. The minister emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts between the Centre, the state government, and local authorities to accelerate development and improve the quality of life of residents.

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Srinivas Sadi, who presented a detailed overview of the district’s developmental activities and achievements through a PowerPoint presentation. The presentation highlighted progress made under various government programmes and outlined areas requiring further intervention and support.

As part of his inspection tour, the Union Minister visited the water reservoir at Sihfa Village, which was constructed under the Jal Jeevan Mission, one of the flagship programmes of the Government of India aimed at providing safe and adequate drinking water to rural households. During the visit, officials briefed him on the functioning of the project and its impact on local communities.

The minister was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Srinivas Sadi and Superintendent of Police Gaurav Tyagi during the inspection. The delegation was received by Senior Executive Engineer (PHED) Lalpektluanga and Sub-Divisional Officer (PHED) Lalzuala, who explained the technical aspects of the project and the progress achieved under the mission in the district.

Choudhary also visited Saitual District Hospital, where he reviewed healthcare services, infrastructure, and the availability of medical facilities. The minister interacted with healthcare officials and examined the measures being taken to improve health services for the people of the district. At the hospital, he was received by Deputy Chief Medical Officer Zothanpari Chhakchhuak, who briefed him on the institution’s functioning and ongoing healthcare initiatives.

Officials stated that the minister’s visit underscored the central government’s commitment to strengthening essential public infrastructure and improving service delivery in remote and rural areas. Particular emphasis was placed on ensuring reliable drinking water supply through the Jal Jeevan Mission and enhancing healthcare accessibility for local communities.

The visit provided an opportunity for district authorities to present their achievements and challenges directly to the Union Minister, while also reinforcing collaboration between different levels of government. Officials expressed confidence that the discussions and inspections conducted during the visit would contribute to further development initiatives and improved implementation of key government programmes in Saitual district.
