Thousands of protesters, including a large number of women from different parts of Imphal East, participated in the torch rally organised by the All Manipur United Clubs’ Organisation (AMUCO) and allied groups. Demonstrators marched towards Khurai Lamlong Bazaar, raising slogans and expressing anger over the recent blast at Tronglaobi that killed two children and injured their mother.

The situation turned tense when protesters attempted to cross barricades set up by state and central security forces. A scuffle reportedly broke out, prompting security personnel to fire tear gas shells to disperse the crowd.

Authorities later brought the situation under control, though tensions remained high in the area. The protest is part of continuing demonstrations across Manipur following the Tronglaobi blast incident, which has intensified public anger amid the ongoing unrest in the state.
