Imphal, April 22, 2026: The Government of Manipur has clarified that helicopter services across the state are operating normally, dismissing rumours circulating on social media and other platforms claiming that services had been suspended.
In a public notice issued by the Department of Transport, Government of Manipur, the authorities stated that helicopter operations managed by Global Vectra Helicorp Limited (GVHL) and Pawan Hans Limited (PHL) continue to function as scheduled. The department emphasized that there has been no official suspension of helicopter services and urged the public not to be misled by unverified reports.
The clarification comes amid widespread speculation regarding the availability of helicopter services, which have become a vital mode of transport for many residents in Manipur due to ongoing disruptions to road connectivity in several parts of the state. Helicopter services have played an important role in facilitating the movement of patients, government officials, students, business travellers, and residents from remote hill districts, particularly during periods of unrest and highway blockades.
The Transport Department appealed to citizens to rely only on official government communications for accurate information regarding helicopter operations. It also cautioned against sharing or forwarding unverified messages that could create unnecessary confusion and inconvenience among passengers.
