In a press release issued on Sunday, the ITLF stated that the decision follows Meeting Resolution No. 3 dated February 12, 2026, which mandates that there shall be no crossing of the buffer zone until a political settlement is reached. The organisation said the restriction remains in force and urged all concerned to strictly adhere to the buffer zone to prevent any untoward incidents and maintain peace and stability.
The forum also announced that a grand programme will be held on May 3, 2026, to mark Separation Day at the Wall of Remembrance. According to the statement, the observance will honour the memory of those who lost their lives during the ongoing ethnic conflict, describing them as martyrs whose sacrifices continue to inspire courage, resilience and unity among the community.
ITLF called on citizens, friends and well-wishers to stand together in solidarity and support the commemoration. The organisation said collective participation would help ensure that the event is conducted in a manner befitting the sacrifices made.
To support the programme, the ITLF Women Wing will organise fundraising activities for the successful conduct of the event.
