Champhai Paragliding Take-Off Site Inaugurated to Boost Adventure Tourism

Champhai, April 8: Prof. Lalnilawma, Hon'ble Minister of State, RD, PHED, DM&R etc. on Tuesday inaugurated a paragliding take-off site developed by the Champhai District Aerosports Association at Eco Cultural Park Tlangsam.

Speaking at the event, the minister expressed appreciation for the dedication and teamwork shown by the association in establishing the facility. He noted that the project was achieved through collective effort without any competition for credit, which he described as commendable.

Prof. Lalnilawma highlighted that paragliding is not only a sport but also beneficial for physical fitness and recreation, and expressed hope that the new facility would become an important tourist attraction in Champhai district. He added that he would also raise the matter with the state’s Tourism Minister to further develop the site.

The minister officially opened the paragliding take-off point and announced a financial contribution of ₹10,000 to the association to support its activities.

During the programme, Champhai DC Mohammad Aaquib and President, Mizoram Aerosports Association J Vanlalliana also addressed the gathering.

The inaugural ceremony was chaired by Paul Zakhuma, with prayers offered by Rev. Lalhmingthanga Chhangte, Bethel Pastor. A vote of thanks and closing prayer were delivered by Pro Pastor Lallawmsanga.
