Assam Rifles Signs MoU with Axis Bank for Special Salary Package for Personnel

Shillong, April 23, 2026: The Assam Rifles on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Axis Bank at the Headquarters Directorate General Assam Rifles (DGAR) in Laitkor, Shillong, to introduce a customised Corporate Salary Package for serving and retired personnel of the force.

The MoU was formalised in the presence of Major General Jai Singh Bainsla, SM, Additional Director General (ADG) Assam Rifles, representing Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles. Axis Bank was represented by Ms. Satpreet Chelawat, Executive Vice President and Business Head – Corporate Salary Business.

The agreement was signed by Brigadier Sandip Chatterjee, SM, Brigadier Personnel, on behalf of the DG Assam Rifles and Ms. Satpreet Chelawat on behalf of Axis Bank.

Under the partnership, Axis Bank will provide a specially designed Corporate Salary Package that includes a curated health insurance scheme exclusively for Assam Rifles personnel, along with personal accident cover, permanent total disability cover and other tailored financial benefits.

Officials said the initiative aims to strengthen welfare measures for Assam Rifles personnel and veterans by enhancing their access to financial services, healthcare support and social security benefits.

The collaboration reflects Assam Rifles’ continued commitment to improving the overall well-being, financial security and healthcare coverage of its serving members and retired personnel.
