Taksing, Arunachal Pradesh, February 11: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday paid homage at the Havildar Sher-e-Thapa Shaurya Sthal in Taksing, remembering the extraordinary bravery of the 1962 war hero known as the “Saviour of Subansiri.”

Paying tribute at the memorial, the Chief Minister said the state remembers his courage and honours his sacrifice, describing him as a symbol of valour and patriotism.
In a separate post, Khandu expressed deep appreciation for the Sikh Regiment of the Indian Army and personnel of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) stationed at Taksing for their wholehearted support during the inauguration of the Tsari Taksing Gajang Shedup Dargyelling Gonpa and related development meetings.

He noted that the active participation and assistance of the armed forces in civilian functions ensured smooth conduct of the events. Such gestures, he said, go beyond duty and play a crucial role in strengthening civil-military bonhomie, trust, and brotherhood in the sensitive border regions.
The visit underscored both remembrance of past sacrifices and continued cooperation between civilian authorities and security forces in Arunachal Pradesh’s frontier areas.
