Pema Khandu Extends Greetings on Arunachal’s 40th Statehood Day, Thanks PM Modi

Itanagar, February 20: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday extended warm greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of its 40th Statehood Day, celebrating four decades of peace, progress and cultural pride.

In a message shared on social media, Khandu said the milestone marked a journey from the “dawn-lit mountains to vibrant valleys,” highlighting Arunachal’s unique identity and achievements. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the mantra of Seva, Sushasan and Sahyog in building a “Viksit Arunachal” while preserving the state’s rich heritage.

The Chief Minister also expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his greetings and continued support to the state. He said the Prime Minister’s message reflected the patriotism, spirit and innovation that define Arunachal Pradesh, from the mountains of Tawang to the easternmost border villages.

Khandu noted that under the Prime Minister’s guidance over the past decade, Arunachal Pradesh has witnessed transformative development in connectivity, infrastructure, healthcare, education, tourism and sustainable livelihoods. He cited initiatives such as the Vibrant Villages Programme, Jal Jeevan Mission, Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY, the Ujala Scheme, and major projects like the Sela Tunnel and Donyi Polo Airport as key milestones in the state’s growth.

He also appreciated the Centre’s efforts in preserving Arunachal’s cultural and spiritual heritage through the digitisation of rare manuscripts under the Gyan Bharatam Mission.

Reaffirming his commitment to a prosperous and united Arunachal Pradesh, Khandu concluded his message with “Jai Hind! Jai Arunachal!”
