Mizoram: Heroin Worth ₹9.18 Lakh Destroyed by Lunglei District Disposal Committee

Lunglei, February 25, 2026: The Lunglei District Disposal Committee (DDC) on Tuesday destroyed 56.77 grams of heroin No. 4 valued at ₹9,18,000 at the AP Tlanga Incinerator Centre in Lunglei.

The disposal was carried out under the chairmanship of J Lalmuankima, Superintendent of Police, Lunglei. Members present included officials from the district administration, Excise & Narcotics Department, and the Sub-Divisional Police Office.

The seized contraband was linked to Lunglei PS Case No. 196/2025 dated 22.12.2025 under Sections 21(b)/29 of the NDPS Act and LLI-PS Case No. 183/2025 dated 12.11.2025 under Section 21(b) of the NDPS Act.

The destruction was conducted following due legal procedures with permission granted by the Lunglei Judicial Magistrate First Class-I as part of pre-trial disposal.
