Aizawl, February 13, 2026: The Government of Mizoram has announced revised office timings for all state government employees, with the new schedule set to take effect from February 16 and remain in force until October 2, 2026. The change has been introduced as part of the government’s seasonal adjustment of working hours aimed at ensuring administrative efficiency and uniformity across government establishments.

The revised schedule was notified through an official order (No. 4449/2025-2026) issued by the General Administration Department (GAD). According to the notification, all departments and offices under the Government of Mizoram will follow the updated timings during the specified period.
Under the new arrangement, the Mizoram Secretariat, government offices within the state, and Mizoram Houses located in other Northeastern states will function from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The revised timing will be applicable from Monday, February 16, 2026, and will continue until October 2, 2026.
Government officials said the seasonal revision of office hours is a routine administrative measure undertaken periodically to streamline public services and facilitate efficient functioning of government offices. The adjustment is also intended to ensure consistency in working hours among departments and offices operating within the region.

The notification further clarified that Mizoram Houses situated outside the Northeast region will follow a slightly different schedule. Accordingly, Mizoram Houses in New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Bengaluru will operate from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM during the same period.
These offices serve as important liaison centres for the state government and provide various services to Mizoram residents, students, officials, and visitors residing or travelling outside the state. The revised timings have been fixed keeping in view local administrative requirements and working conditions in the respective cities.
Officials have directed all departments and employees to adhere strictly to the revised schedule. The government expects the new office timings to contribute to improved productivity, better coordination among departments, and more efficient delivery of public services.
The revised working hours will remain in effect until October 2, after which the government may review and notify further changes as required.
