Aizawl, February 9, 2026: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Monday released a commemorative book documenting the state’s observance of UNESCO World Art Day 2025, reaffirming Mizoram’s commitment to promoting art, culture and indigenous identity at both national and international levels.

The book was officially launched at the Chief Minister’s Office in Aizawl during the closing programme of the World Art Day 2025 celebrations. The publication serves as a comprehensive record of the activities, exhibitions, artworks and cultural programmes organised as part of the year-long observance, which began with the main celebration held in April 2025 at the I&PR Auditorium in Aizawl.
World Art Day 2025 in Mizoram was organised under the leadership and patronage of Chief Minister Lalduhoma, who also serves as the Chief Patron of the International Association of Art (IAA), Mizoram Chapter. The celebrations aimed to highlight the richness of Mizo culture, traditions and artistic heritage through various forms of visual art and creative expression.
Speaking at the release ceremony, Lalduhoma emphasised the vital role of art in preserving cultural heritage and strengthening a community’s identity. He noted that art transcends geographical and linguistic boundaries and serves as a powerful medium for sharing indigenous traditions with the wider world. The Chief Minister said the commemorative publication would stand as a valuable record of the state’s artistic achievements and its efforts to promote cultural awareness.

The event was attended by several distinguished guests, including Manaj Saha, President of IAA–India and UNESCO Official Partner; Lalhming Mawii, Mizoram State Coordinator; Rosiamliana Ralte, State Secretary of the IAA Mizoram Chapter; State Advisor Lalchuailova; and other officials, artists and cultural representatives.
Organisers stated that the commemorative book reflects the collective efforts of artists, cultural institutions and government agencies in making the World Art Day celebrations a success. They expressed hope that the publication would inspire future generations of artists and further strengthen appreciation for Mizoram’s rich artistic and cultural heritage.
The release also underscored the state government's continued support for initiatives that encourage creativity, preserve traditional knowledge and showcase Mizo culture on global platforms through art and cultural exchange.
