Addressing the programme, the Chief Minister said the state government accords high priority to making public services simpler, faster and more accessible to citizens. He noted that several digital initiatives have been implemented over the past two years and reaffirmed the government’s goal of positioning Mizoram as a leading state in digital service delivery in India.
Highlighting Mizoram’s advantages, Lalduhoma said the state’s small population, high literacy rate and widespread proficiency in English provide a strong foundation for effective digital transformation. He informed that more than 20 online service portals have been launched in the last two years, including the recently inaugurated Mizoram CSR Connect Portal. The computerisation of the Cooperation Department, he said, is another major milestone in this direction.
The Chief Minister stated that the initiative would greatly benefit cooperative societies across the state by improving accessibility, transparency and efficiency, while also easing work processes for departmental staff. He appreciated the efforts of the minister and officials concerned for completing the project within a short time frame.
Cooperation Minister PC Vanlalruata said Mizoram is among the first states in the country to successfully implement the computerisation of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies and the first to fully computerise all Cooperation Department offices in the state. He expressed pride in the achievement and thanked the Chief Minister for inaugurating the project.
Commissioner and Secretary, Cooperation Department, Adit Prakash Rai, provided an overview of the project, stating that it was initiated in Mizoram on March 29, 2025, and covers the RCS office in Aizawl as well as cooperative offices in all districts.
For cloud infrastructure, INEXT Systems Private Limited, Zarkawt, Aizawl, has been selected, while software development has been carried out by Velocis Systems Pvt. Ltd., an empanelled firm under National Informatics Centre Services Incorporated (NICSI).
The “RCS, Mizoram Office Application/Portal” (cooperation.mizoram.gov.in) has been developed under the centrally sponsored scheme of the Ministry of Cooperation, titled Strengthening Cooperatives Through IT Interventions. The project aims to enhance the ease of doing business for cooperative societies and enable digital interaction with RCS and district cooperative offices without the need for physical visits.
The inauguration programme was attended by Registrar of Cooperative Societies Mr. John LT Sanga, senior government officials and representatives of cooperative societies across the state.
