Kohima, February 14, 2026: Nagaland Minister for PHED and Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi, met with members of the Nagaland Association of Kickboxing Organization (NAKO) led by its President Mr. Khetoho Zhimomi and felicitated them for their outstanding performance at the 5th India Open International Kickboxing Cup 2026 held in New Delhi.

The Nagaland team secured one gold medal, two silver medals, one bronze medal, and achieved an overall 4th rank in the tournament.
Mongsen Lkr clinched the gold medal with a victory over Egypt, while Temsunungsang and Kulungshi Newmai bagged silver medals against Iraq and Maharashtra respectively. Rokato Zhimo secured a bronze medal against Kazakhstan, and Riaj finished 4th after competing against Kazakhstan.

Congratulating the athletes for bringing laurels to the state, Zhimomi praised their dedication and hard work, stating that their achievement has made Nagaland proud. He assured the team of necessary support from the government to ensure their continued growth and success in the sport.
The Minister extended his best wishes to the players for their future competitions and encouraged them to keep striving for excellence on national and international platforms.
