Imphal, February 25, 2026: Security forces arrested three cadres of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and one cadre of PREPAK (PRO) from the general area between Border Pillars 72 and 73 at Yangoubung under Moreh Police Station in Tengnoupal district on February 24.

According to Manipur Police, the arrested PLA cadres have been identified as Chalamba Takkhelambam (23) of Takhel Makha Leikai, Imphal East; Sougrakpam Ojit (33) of Yaingangpokpi, Imphal East; and Sorokhaibam Manimatum (18) of Chairen Makha Leikai, Kakching district. The PREPAK (PRO) cadre was identified as Yambem Lukhoi (21) of Nongmeibung, Imphal East.

In a separate operation on February 23, security forces arrested an active PREPAK cadre, Sorokhaibam Inaoton Singh alias Nojan (39), from his residence at Lamsang Thong Maning under Lamsang Police Station in Imphal West district. A mobile phone along with a SIM card was seized from his possession.

Meanwhile, on February 24, security forces recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from the Nungai Hill Range area under Sagolmang Police Station in Imphal East district. The recovered items include one country-made rifle, one country-made 9 mm pistol with magazine, one HE-36 hand grenade, five rounds of .303 ammunition, one bulletproof jacket with two metal plates, one magazine pouch, two bulletproof helmets, and three slings.
Further investigation is underway in connection with the arrests and recoveries.
