In a joint press statement issued on February 21, leaders of Hmar Inpui GHQ, Mizo People’s Convention, and Zomi Council expressed deep grief over the demise of the senior leader. They described the coffin rally as a solemn tribute to Valte’s life and service, and as a collective expression of mourning by the people.

The organisations also resolved to submit a joint memorandum to the Central Government, reiterating their demand for a political solution to the issues arising from the prolonged unrest in Manipur.

While announcing the rally, the signatories appealed to the public to maintain peace and refrain from any form of violence or unrest during the mourning period. They urged citizens to join the coffin rally and funeral proceedings in a dignified manner.
