Following the courtesy meetings, detailed discussions were held with officials from central and state intelligence, enforcement and security agencies on enhancing coordination and improving enforcement mechanisms against narcotics smuggling networks operating in the region.

According to officials, emphasis was laid on making NCORD (Narco Coordination Centre) meetings more outcome-oriented, strengthening the State Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), and ensuring the effective use of the State-level Joint Coordination Committee (JCC). These measures are aimed at improving real-time intelligence sharing and seamless coordination between central and state agencies.

The discussions also focused on adopting a unified and integrated approach to enforcement to disrupt drug trafficking routes and networks, particularly in view of Manipur’s strategic location along international borders.

Officials said the review reflects the Centre and the state government’s continued commitment to intensifying the fight against drug trafficking and protecting youth and communities from the growing menace of narcotics.
