Shillong, February 26: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma chaired a high-level meeting to review the proposed campus masterplan for the permanent campus of the National Law University (NLU) and Judicial Academy at Mawpdang-Mawkhanu in New Shillong Township.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong and Revati Mohite Dere, Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court, along with senior officials.

During the meeting, the stakeholders deliberated on the design and infrastructure layout of the proposed campus, aimed at establishing a state-of-the-art institution for legal education and judicial training in the State.
The proposed permanent campus at Mawpdang-Mawkhanu is expected to strengthen Meghalaya’s higher education landscape and position the State as a centre for excellence in legal studies and judicial capacity building.
The Chief Minister reiterated the Government’s commitment to expediting the project and ensuring the development of modern academic infrastructure in New Shillong Township.
