Dimapur, February 27: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland on Thursday organised a State Speaker Training Workshop at Hotel East Inn, Dimapur, under the banner of the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Prashikshan Mahabhiyan, a nationwide training initiative aimed at strengthening organisational capacity, leadership skills, and effective communication within the party.
The workshop brought together party functionaries, spokespersons, and leaders from different organisational levels to participate in a series of sessions focused on enhancing public communication, ideological understanding, and leadership development. The programme forms part of the BJP's broader effort to equip its members with the skills necessary to engage effectively with the public and contribute to the party's organisational growth.
The training session was chaired by State Committee Member Shiyeto W, while State Committee Convenor Sune P.C. Jamir and Co-Convenor P.M. Ghosh facilitated the proceedings. The organisers highlighted the importance of continuous training and capacity building in maintaining a strong and disciplined political organisation capable of addressing contemporary challenges and effectively communicating its vision and policies.
During the workshop, participants were provided with guidance on public speaking, communication strategies, and methods of engaging with diverse audiences. Special emphasis was placed on the role of party speakers and leaders in conveying the organisation's policies, programmes, and ideological principles in a clear, informed, and responsible manner.
Party leaders noted that effective communication has become increasingly important in today's fast-changing information environment. They stressed that public representatives and spokespersons must be well-informed, articulate, and capable of addressing issues with clarity and confidence while maintaining organisational discipline and credibility.
The workshop also focused on strengthening participants' understanding of the philosophy and principles associated with Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, whose concept of Integral Humanism continues to serve as an important ideological foundation for the BJP. Leaders encouraged participants to deepen their understanding of the party's core values and governance approach so that they can communicate these principles more effectively at the grassroots level.
In addition to communication skills, the programme highlighted the importance of organisational responsibility and teamwork. Speakers urged participants to act as effective links between the party and the public, ensuring that people's concerns are understood and addressed while also promoting awareness of government initiatives and development programmes.
Organisers stated that the workshop forms part of a larger nationwide training campaign being conducted under the Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya Prashikshan Mahabhiyan, which seeks to create a well-trained and ideologically grounded cadre base. Through structured training programmes, the party aims to enhance leadership capabilities, improve organisational efficiency, and strengthen coordination across various levels of the organisation.
According to party officials, the initiative is designed not only to improve communication skills but also to foster greater commitment to public service, accountability, and constructive engagement with communities. By investing in leadership development and capacity building, the party hopes to ensure cohesive functioning and effective outreach throughout its organisational network.
Participants also engaged in discussions on contemporary political issues, governance challenges, and strategies for public engagement. The interactive nature of the workshop allowed attendees to exchange ideas, share experiences, and learn from one another while gaining practical insights into organisational and communication responsibilities.
Party leaders expressed confidence that the training programme would help strengthen the effectiveness of party functionaries and improve their ability to connect with citizens across Nagaland. They noted that informed and capable leaders play a crucial role in promoting meaningful dialogue, addressing public concerns, and contributing to democratic processes.
