Biren Singh, 14 NDA MLAs Fly to Delhi Amid Speculation Over Manipur’s Political Future

Imphal, Feb 1: Former Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and 14 NDA legislators left for New Delhi from Imphal Airport on Sunday following summons from the BJP High Command, fuelling fresh political speculation in the state.

The NDA delegation includes BJP, NPF and NPP MLAs such as Thokchom Satyabarta, Awangbow Newmai, Y. Khemchand and Noorul Hassan. The leaders are scheduled to hold discussions with central party leaders on February 2, with sources indicating talks will focus on the prevailing political situation in Manipur.

Earlier, BJP Manipur Pradesh President A. Sarda Devi, along with several party MLAs, also departed for the national capital for consultations. While the party has not officially disclosed the agenda, the visits come amid widespread rumours of efforts to form a popular government in the state.

Party sources maintained that the meetings are routine, but the timing has intensified speculation across political circles in Manipur.
