Namsang EAC Headquarters Relocated from Kongshong to Yonglok

Longleng, January 13, 2026: A programme marking the relocation of the Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) Headquarters of Namsang Circle from Kongshong to the Yonglok area was held at Yonglok Village Community Hall in Longleng district on Monday. The event was graced by Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio as the honoured guest.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Rio said the decision to relocate the EAC headquarters was taken in response to long-standing public representations and with the objective of strengthening administrative outreach and accessibility for the people. He commended the residents of Namsang for their active participation in shaping the region’s development and expressed optimism that the relocation would usher in greater growth, harmony, and prosperity.

Highlighting the importance of responsive governance, the Chief Minister said decentralised administrative presence plays a vital role in ensuring effective service delivery and addressing local needs more efficiently. He urged the community to continue working together with the administration to take advantage of new opportunities arising from the relocation.

Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton also addressed the programme, along with legislators B. Bangtick Phom and A. Pongshi Phom, and Longleng Deputy Commissioner W. Manpai Phom.

Chief Minister Rio was accompanied by Commissioner, Nagaland Thejawelie Gregory, PRO to the Chief Minister Rusemtong Longkumer, Assistant Chief Engineer (CAWD) Sungtiba Amer, and OSD (Security) to the Chief Minister Melite Kapfo.

The relocation of the Namsang EAC headquarters to Yonglok is expected to improve administrative efficiency and bring governance closer to the people of the region.
