The meeting was attended by MHA officials and four senior representatives of Central YMA, who were specially invited by the ministry. Discussions focused on follow-up matters related to issues earlier raised by Central YMA and other NGOs during the proposed visit of the Union Home Minister to Mizoram on March 15 last year.

During the deliberations, officials reviewed progress on various proposals, including financial assistance for drug abuse prevention initiatives. It was informed that a sum of over ₹88 crore has already been planned through the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for the procurement of vehicles to strengthen anti-drug operations. Additionally, a budget of ₹2.3 crore has been earmarked for training and capacity-building programmes aimed at combating drug abuse.

The meeting also discussed the allocation of ₹99.7 crore for the construction of a YMA Conference Centre at Thingsulthliah. On the long-pending demand for inclusion of the Mizo language in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution, officials stated that the matter would be examined by a committee, citing the presence of around 150–200 pending language-related petitions.
