The awards highlight Meghalaya’s achievements in inclusive, data-driven governance, spanning urban development, public service delivery and healthcare, and underscore the State’s growing role as a leader in digital transformation in the Northeast.
One of the key recognitions was awarded to Meghalaya ONE, a unified digital platform under the Planning, Investment Promotion and Sustainable Development Department. The platform was honoured for enhancing public service delivery by enabling citizens to access government schemes, services and grievance redressal through a single interface. Meghalaya ONE is accessible via web portals, physical service centres and a network of village data volunteers, ensuring inclusivity even in remote areas.
Another award was conferred on the Meghalaya State GIS and UAV Centre, functioning under the Meghalaya Basin Development Authority and the Planning, Investment Promotion and Sustainable Development Department. The Centre was recognised for excellence in geospatial technologies. Its flagship Meghalaya State Geo Portal leverages AI-powered analytics to support evidence-based decision-making and track critical trends such as deforestation, land use and weather forecasting.

Officials said the recognitions reaffirm Meghalaya’s commitment to harnessing technology for transparent governance, efficient service delivery and improved quality of life for its citizens.
