Shillong, January 19: : Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Monday unveiled a Khasi Traditional Mural at Mawlai Mawiong Rim, commemorating the 20th anniversary of Seng Samla Mawlai Pyllun.
The mural, rich in symbolism and artistic detail, vividly portrays the heritage, traditions, and cultural essence of the Khasi community. Rooted in indigenous motifs and narratives, the artwork stands as a tribute to the enduring identity of the Khasi people and the role of community-led initiatives in preserving cultural legacy.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated Seng Samla Mawlai Pyllun on reaching the two-decade milestone and lauded the organization’s contribution to community development. He expressed hope that the group would continue to work unitedly to inspire and engage youth in positive pursuits, empowering them to contribute meaningfully to the progress and prosperity of the state.
Local leaders, community members, and youth representatives attended the unveiling, marking the anniversary as a moment of pride for Mawlai and a reaffirmation of Meghalaya’s commitment to celebrating and safeguarding its cultural heritage.
