JNMDA Artistes to Represent Manipur at Republic Day Parade 2026

Imphal, January 13, 2026: A contingent of 92 artistes and students from the Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy (JNMDA) will represent Manipur at the Republic Day Parade 2026 in New Delhi, showcasing the State’s rich cultural heritage on the national stage.

According to an official announcement issued by Lok Bhavan Manipur, the cultural delegation will participate in the Republic Day celebrations scheduled to be held on January 26, 2026.

As part of the preparations, a 50-member advance team of Manipuri Dance performers departed for New Delhi on Monday. Meanwhile, a 42-member Pung and Sankirtana team is scheduled to depart today. Together, the two groups will present traditional art forms that reflect Manipur’s centuries-old cultural and spiritual traditions.

The participation of JNMDA artistes is expected to highlight the uniqueness of Manipuri classical dance, percussion, and devotional performance forms before a nationwide audience during one of India’s most significant national events.

Extending best wishes to the delegation, Lok Bhavan expressed confidence that the team would make Manipur proud through a memorable and successful performance at the Republic Day Parade.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, a premier institution for the preservation and promotion of Manipuri dance and allied art forms, has previously represented the State at several national and international platforms.
