The inauguration was attended by C. R. Khampa, Deputy Commissioner, Namsai district, along with other officials and community representatives. The newly built 60-bed hostel is expected to greatly benefit students of the residential school, particularly at a time when boarding facilities are limited and parents increasingly seek quality education for their children.
Addressing the gathering, Mein congratulated the Arunachal Pali Vidyapith Society and the Rural Works Department (RWD) team for completing the project. He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to support the institution’s future expansion, including the creation of additional hostel capacity in the coming days.
Stressing that education must go hand in hand with cultural and linguistic preservation, the Deputy Chief Minister assured continued government support for the teaching of Pali and Tai Khamti languages. He also highlighted the importance of digitisation and restoration of rare manuscripts preserved in the school’s museum, describing them as invaluable assets of Arunachal Pradesh’s cultural heritage.
Mein further noted that as Chongkham develops as an Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) headquarters, emphasis will be placed on planned and sustainable development to help the town emerge as a vibrant educational and cultural hub. He said sustained support would be extended not only for the growth of Arunachal Pali Vidyapith but also for the overall development of the region.
“By strengthening education and preserving our cultural heritage, we are investing in our children and securing the future of Arunachal Pradesh,” the Deputy Chief Minister said.
