Tripura Hosts Open Golf Tournament Under Bharat Golf Mahotsav GFI Tour 2025

Agartala, December 5, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Friday attended the Tripura Open Golf Tournament at Shalbagan, a prestigious sporting event organised under the Bharat Golf Mahotsav GFI Tour 2025. The tournament was jointly organised by the Tripura Golf Association and the TUSKER BSF Golf Club, bringing together experienced golfers, emerging talents and sports enthusiasts from different parts of the country.

Dr. Saha noted that while golf has traditionally been considered a niche sport, its popularity has been steadily increasing across the country, including in Tripura. He expressed confidence that initiatives such as the Bharat Golf Mahotsav would help expand awareness of the sport, encourage wider participation and nurture local talent capable of competing at higher levels.

The Chief Minister also underscored the role of sports in promoting discipline, physical fitness and character development among young people. Officials from the Tripura Golf Association and the Border Security Force’s TUSKER BSF Golf Club said the tournament reflects their commitment to promoting golf in the Northeast and creating a platform for both seasoned players and newcomers to showcase their skills.
