Agartala, December 5, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha attended the Tripura Open Golf Tournament at Shalbagan today, an event organised as part of the Bharat Golf Mahotsav GFI Tour 2025. The tournament is a collaborative initiative of the Tripura Golf Association and the TUSKER BSF Golf Club, aimed at promoting golf as an emerging sporting discipline in the state.
The Chief Minister lauded the organisers for bringing a national-level golf event to Tripura, noting that hosting such tournaments strengthens the state’s sporting culture and provides a platform for local talent. “Events like this not only enrich our sporting ecosystem but also inspire the younger generation to embrace the elegance, discipline, and competitive spirit of golf,” Prof. Saha said.
He highlighted that the popularity of golf has been steadily growing in Tripura and expressed confidence that events under the Bharat Golf Mahotsav will accelerate the sport’s outreach, particularly among youth.
The Tripura Open Golf Tournament witnessed participation from experienced golfers as well as emerging players, contributing to the state’s vision of encouraging diverse sporting opportunities.
Officials from the Tripura Golf Association and BSF also expressed hope that the tournament would pave the way for more national-level golfing events in the future, positioning Tripura as an attractive destination for sports tourism.
The event concluded with appreciation for all participants and organisers who contributed to the successful hosting of the tournament.
