Kohima, Dec 9: The Nagaland Digital Entrepreneurship & Startup Fest was successfully held at NIELIT Kohima on Saturday, bringing together innovators, entrepreneurs, students, and industry stakeholders to celebrate and promote digital innovation in the state.
The event was jointly organised by the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) Kohima and the Department of Information Technology & Communication, Government of Nagaland.
The inaugural programme was graced by S. Krishnan, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), who attended as the Special Guest. In his address, he highlighted the growing importance of digital technologies in driving economic growth, skill development, and opportunities for youth in the region.
The fest served as a platform for startups and aspiring entrepreneurs to showcase innovative ideas, explore mentorship opportunities, and engage with experts in emerging fields such as AI, cybersecurity, electronics, and digital services. Workshops, panel discussions and demonstrations were also held to encourage capacity-building and digital literacy.
Officials from NIELIT and the IT&C Department emphasised that such initiatives are essential for empowering Nagaland’s youth, fostering a strong startup ecosystem, and positioning the state as a rising hub for digital entrepreneurship in the Northeast.
