Jotsoma Experience 2025 Debuts with Adventure, Culture and Eco-Tourism at Puliebadze

Organised by the Jotsoma Nature Conservation and Eco Tourism (JNCET) in collaboration with the Nagaland Department of Tourism, the festival goes beyond conventional celebrations, offering travellers an experiential journey through eco-tourism, indigenous traditions, and the rich communal spirit of Jotsoma.

Adventure and Culture in Harmony

Set against the foothills of the iconic Puliebadze peak, the festival features a wide range of activities designed to highlight both the rugged natural terrain and the enduring cultural practices of the local community.

Visitors can participate in muzzle loader gun firing, sei gari (traditional wood cart rides), rope swings, off-road trekking, camping, and enjoy panoramic sunrise and sunset viewpoints. Cultural exhibits include a mini traditional museum, photo booths with traditional attire, and live demonstrations of rice pounding, weaving, and other age-old crafts.

Food enthusiasts can enjoy home-grown cuisine from local stalls, while entertaining competitions such as snail-eating contests and catapult slingshot challenges add festive excitement.

First-Ever Catapult Slingshot Competition

A major attraction this year is the inaugural Catapult Slingshot Competition, scheduled for December 6 at Puliebadze Chahe Ki. Participants will vie for cash prizes of ₹20,000, ₹10,000, and ₹5,000, marking a spirited addition to the festival calendar.

Traditional Naga Buffet Experience

Visitors will also have the chance to indulge in an authentic Traditional Naga Buffet on December 6 and 7 from 3 pm to 7 pm. Hosted at Puliebadze Chahe Ki, the buffet is priced at ₹800 for couples and ₹1500 for families, offering a curated spread prepared by local chefs and households - celebrating the rich culinary heritage of the Naga people.

A Model for Sustainable, Community-Led Tourism

Beyond cultural showcase and adventure, the event underscores Jotsoma’s ongoing commitment to conservation and sustainable tourism. JNCET continues to promote eco-friendly practices, forest preservation, and livelihood generation through responsible tourism initiatives. Puliebadze’s rich biodiversity and sweeping vistas make it a year-round attraction for trekkers and nature enthusiasts.
