Gyalshing District Administration Conducts Extensive Inspection of Infrastructure and Government Services

Gyalshing, Nov 9: In a major initiative to strengthen governance and ensure equitable development across remote areas, District Collector Tenzing D. Denzongpa led a comprehensive two-day inspection tour of the Karzi–Mangnam Gram Panchayat Unit (GPU), one of the most inaccessible regions of Gyalshing District.

Accompanied by officials and representatives from key departments, the District Administration assessed government infrastructure, reviewed ongoing departmental projects, and interacted with local communities to understand challenges faced at the grassroots level.

Inspection of Key Institutions and Infrastructure

The outreach began at New Reepbum Academy (Upper Gangyap), where the DC held discussions with teachers and students. The team then inspected several critical facilities and development sites, including:

PAA Khola Bridge at Naku

Health and Wellness Centre, Kongri

Government Jr. High School, Kongri

Government Secondary School, Labdang

Government Jr. High School, Dhuppidara

At Lower Dhuppidara, the DC held a detailed meeting with Panchayats and landowners regarding severe landslide issues triggered by road construction under the Kuntal Hydro Power Project. He assured full administrative support to address safety and rehabilitation concerns.

Community Interaction and Administrative Outreach

During an engagement programme at the Dhuppidara Narkhola GPK Hall, DC Denzongpa reiterated that the goal of the outreach was to bring direct, accessible governance to citizens’ doorsteps. He emphasised the need for strengthened collaboration between Zilla Panchayats and the District Administration for efficient public service delivery.

Listening attentively to grievances from residents and departmental staff, the DC assured immediate intervention on urgent issues and encouraged local stakeholders to work collectively for overall community welfare.

To support vulnerable families, the District Collector distributed blankets and pressure cookers to selected beneficiaries, marking the conclusion of the day’s programme.
