In T. Khongkhai village of Churachandpur district, Assam Rifles personnel conducted a Swachhata Abhiyan in collaboration with students and teachers of Conventional English School. The cleanliness drive witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 50 students and nine teachers, who joined security personnel in cleaning public areas of the village.

Before the drive commenced, Assam Rifles officials conducted an awareness session highlighting the importance of personal hygiene, proper waste disposal, environmental conservation, and the objectives of the Swachh Bharat Mission. Participants were encouraged to adopt sustainable cleanliness practices and inspire others in their communities to maintain a clean and healthy environment.

The initiative aimed not only to improve sanitation in the village but also to instil a sense of civic responsibility among young students. Residents appreciated the programme, stating that such awareness campaigns help cultivate responsible citizens while motivating children to actively contribute to community development.

Meanwhile, in Komlakhong, Imphal West district, Assam Rifles organised a felicitation ceremony to honour seven young candidates who successfully completed a specialised training programme for upcoming defence recruitment rallies.

Among the successful trainees, six had prepared for recruitment as Agniveer (General Duty) candidates, while one candidate completed training for recruitment into the Indian Coast Guard. The comprehensive coaching programme, conducted under the guidance of Assam Rifles instructors, focused on physical fitness, written examination preparation, discipline, and personality development to enhance the candidates' chances of selection.

Family members, local leaders, and community representatives attended the felicitation ceremony and commended Assam Rifles for mentoring local youth and creating opportunities for them to pursue careers in the armed forces. They noted that such initiatives not only prepare candidates for recruitment but also instil discipline, confidence, and leadership qualities among participants.

The twin initiatives reflect Assam Rifles' continued efforts to strengthen its relationship with local communities through meaningful civic engagement and youth development programmes. Officials said the force remains committed to organising similar activities in the future to promote cleanliness, social responsibility, and provide guidance to aspiring youth seeking a disciplined and productive future through service in the nation's defence forces.
