Dr. Lorho S. Pfoze Appointed President of NPP Manipur State Unit

Shillong/Imphal, December 2:  The National People's Party (NPP) has appointed Lorho S. Pfoze as the new President of its Manipur State Unit, marking a significant organisational development as the party seeks to strengthen its presence and expand its grassroots network in the state.

The announcement was welcomed by NPP National President and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, who congratulated Dr. Pfoze and expressed confidence in his ability to lead the party's Manipur unit during a crucial phase of its organisational growth.

In a statement shared on social media, Sangma said Dr. Pfoze's leadership would enable the party to serve the people of Manipur "with renewed confidence." He described the former Member of Parliament as an experienced and respected political leader whose administrative experience and commitment to public service would further strengthen the party's organisational structure in the state.

Dr. Pfoze has been actively associated with public life and is widely regarded as a seasoned leader with extensive political experience. Party leaders believe his appointment will help consolidate the NPP's organisational framework while improving coordination between the state unit and the party's national leadership.

The occasion also witnessed the participation of several senior NPP leaders from Manipur who travelled to Shillong. Among those present were Rameshwar M. Singh, MLA and Leader of the Legislative Party; Loken Singh, Chief Whip; Noorul Hasan, MLA and Working President of the Manipur unit; and Janghemlung Panmei, MLA and Working President.

Addressing party leaders, Conrad Sangma emphasised the importance of unity, teamwork, and collective leadership in strengthening the party's organisational base in Manipur. He urged all leaders and workers to work together with renewed dedication to expand the party's reach and effectively address the aspirations of the people.

The NPP chief expressed confidence that under Dr. Pfoze's leadership, the state unit would become more dynamic and better positioned to connect with grassroots workers, strengthen public outreach, and enhance the party's role in addressing key developmental and governance issues.

The appointment comes at a time when the National People's Party is focusing on strengthening its organisational network across the Northeast. The party has been working to consolidate its position in the region by enhancing coordination among state units, expanding grassroots engagement, and empowering experienced leaders to spearhead its political activities.
