IGGL officials briefed the Chief Minister on the detailed alignment of the pipeline, which originates from the Panisagar Receiving Terminal in Tripura and enters Mizoram through Kanhmun, continuing through Zawlnuam, Kawrthah, Tuidam, and Darlak, before approaching Mamit. From there, the pipeline will move toward Lengte and terminate at the proposed Sihhmui Receiving Terminal.

At Sihhmui, the responsibility for providing household gas connections within Aizawl city will be undertaken by the Tripura Natural Gas Corporation Limited (TNGCL).

According to project officials, the pipeline will span a total length of 119.5 kilometres, with a one-foot diameter. The target for completion has been set for December 2027.

The Chief Minister also reviewed challenges faced during implementation and assured government support for timely resolution to ensure smooth progress.

The Tripura–Mizoram section is part of the larger North East Natural Gas Pipeline Grid, with the Panisagar–Sihhmui corridor falling under Phase II, which includes the Guwahati–Agartala–Aizawl pipeline spanning a total length of 723 kilometres.

Officials noted that once operational, the project will significantly enhance energy accessibility and support urban development in Aizawl and neighbouring regions.
