Churachandpur, Dec 15: The District Industries Centre (DIC), Churachandpur, successfully concluded a two-day District Level Vendor Development Programme (VDP) cum Product Exhibition under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening the local Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) ecosystem. The programme was held at the Synod Conference Hall on IB Road and brought together entrepreneurs, government officials, industry experts, and resource persons to explore opportunities for business growth and market expansion.
The initiative was organised with the objective of equipping local entrepreneurs with the knowledge and skills required to improve their competitiveness, enhance product quality, and expand their access to government and private procurement markets. Throughout the two-day programme, participants attended technical sessions, interactive discussions, and product exhibitions aimed at promoting sustainable enterprise development in the district.
Resource persons highlighted the importance of integrating local MSMEs into formal supply chains by adopting quality standards, meeting compliance requirements, and embracing digital platforms for procurement. Entrepreneurs were encouraged to register on digital procurement portals and establish linkages with Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), large buyers, and government procurement agencies to access broader market opportunities.
A major focus of the programme was the promotion of the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative, which seeks to identify and promote unique products with high commercial potential from the district. Experts stressed the need to strengthen indigenous industries, encourage value addition, improve branding and packaging, and adopt innovative business practices to make local products more competitive in regional and national markets.
The accompanying product exhibition showcased a diverse range of locally manufactured and sector-based products, highlighting the entrepreneurial talent and craftsmanship of Churachandpur. Participants had the opportunity to interact with fellow entrepreneurs, exchange ideas, and explore potential collaborations for future business development.
More than 60 local entrepreneurs representing various MSME sectors actively participated in the programme. At the closing ceremony, certificates were distributed to all participating vendors in recognition of their successful completion of the capacity-building programme.
Officials of the District Industries Centre expressed satisfaction with the enthusiastic response from entrepreneurs and noted that the Vendor Development Programme had created valuable networking opportunities while enhancing awareness of market access and government support schemes. They reaffirmed their commitment to organising similar initiatives in the future to strengthen the district's MSME sector, promote entrepreneurship, generate employment, and contribute to the sustainable economic development of Churachandpur.
