Aizawl, November 28: Mizoram’s rising mixed martial arts star Nazareth Lalthazuala Hmar has etched his name into the history books by becoming the first fighter from the state to compete in ONE Championship, Asia’s premier mixed martial arts (MMA) organization. The 22-year-old made a dream debut at ONE Friday Fights 135 in Bangkok, Thailand, delivering a stunning knockout victory over Japanese fighter Masaki Suzuki in just 16 seconds.

Competing in the Strawweight division (52.2–56.7 kg), Nazareth wasted no time in making an impact on the international stage. Displaying explosive striking power and remarkable precision, he ended the contest almost immediately, leaving spectators and MMA fans around the world in awe. The performance drew praise from ONE Championship itself, which highlighted the feat on its platforms, describing it as a “lightning-fast KO.”

His achievements include being a three-time State MMA Champion, a three-time National MMA Champion, and the Mizoram Fight League Flyweight Champion. With his victory in Bangkok, Nazareth extended his professional MMA record to an undefeated 6-0, further strengthening his credentials as one of India’s most promising young fighters.
