Agartala, November 8, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Saturday attended two major medical conferences in Agartala, highlighting the state’s continued progress in healthcare, medical education and research. The events brought together leading physicians, surgeons, medical educators and healthcare professionals to discuss emerging trends, innovations and challenges in the medical field.
The Chief Minister first attended the Silver Jubilee Conference of the Association of Physicians of India (TAPICON), Tripura State Branch, held at the Vivekananda Auditorium of Tripura Medical College in Hapania. The conference marked 25 years of the organization’s contribution to medical education, clinical practice and academic advancement in the state.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Saha praised the dedication of physicians who have played a vital role in strengthening healthcare services and improving patient outcomes in Tripura. He emphasized the importance of continuous medical education, scientific research and knowledge-sharing in addressing evolving health challenges.
“It is truly inspiring to be part of this landmark occasion celebrating 25 years of dedication to advancing healthcare in Tripura. The commitment shown by medical professionals over the years has significantly contributed to the state's healthcare development,” he said.

Later in the day, Dr. Saha attended the 19th Annual State Conference of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), Tripura State Chapter, held at the KLS Auditorium of AGMC and GBP Hospital. The conference served as a platform for surgeons from across the state to exchange ideas, discuss advancements in surgical techniques and share experiences related to patient care and clinical practice.
As a medical professional himself, Dr. Saha underscored the importance of such conferences in promoting collaboration among healthcare experts and fostering innovation in medical practice. He said that scientific discussions and professional networking play a crucial role in improving healthcare standards and ensuring better outcomes for patients.
