4th Namchi District Super League 2025 Concludes with Childhood FC’s Victory

Namchi, Sept 8: The 4th Namchi District Super League 2025 concluded on a high note at Bhaichung Stadium in Namchi, marking the successful end of one of the district’s premier football competitions. Organized by the Namchi District Football Association (NDFA) in collaboration with the District Administrative Centre (DAC), the tournament showcased exceptional football talent and community participation over nearly two months of competition.

The grand finale was attended by Sikkim’s Minister for Urban Development and Food & Civil Supplies, Bhoj Raj Rai, who graced the occasion as the chief guest. The championship match witnessed an impressive performance by Childhood FC, which defeated Red Panda FC 2-0 to emerge as the champions of the tournament.

Several players were recognized for their outstanding performances throughout the league. Sagar Gurung was awarded the prestigious Man of the Tournament title for his consistent contributions and leadership on the field. Karma Bhutia of Childhood FC received the High Scorer Award after finishing as the tournament’s top goal scorer, while Anith Subba of Red Panda FC was named Man of the Match for his commendable effort in the final.

The league, which began on July 24, featured seven participating clubs: Childhood FC, Red Panda FC, Sinalchu FC, Friends FC, Jorethang FC, Rabong FC, and Sikkim Kamrang FC. The competition provided a platform for local footballers to display their skills and gain valuable competitive experience.

The closing ceremony was also attended by Basant Yonzon, Chairman of the Sikkim Youth Development Board and President of NDFA, Additional Director of Sports and Youth Affairs Tshering Ongmu Bhutia, Deputy Director Basant Pradhan, and Father Francis Banerjee, Principal of Namchi Public School, along with NDFA officials and football enthusiasts.

The successful conclusion of the tournament highlighted the growing popularity of football in South Sikkim while promoting sportsmanship, youth engagement, and community spirit across the region.
