Tripura CM Unveils ‘Viksit Tripura 2047’ Vision Document, Aligned with NITI Aayog Guidelines

Agartala, August 22, 2025:  Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Friday unveiled the ‘Viksit Tripura 2047’ vision document at Prajna Bhavan in Agartala, outlining an ambitious roadmap for transforming the state into a developed and prosperous region by the year 2047. The launch was attended by cabinet ministers, senior government officials, policymakers and other stakeholders.

The vision document has been prepared in accordance with the guidelines of NITI Aayog and is aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s national vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047,” which aims to make India a fully developed nation by the centenary year of its independence.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Saha said the document provides a comprehensive framework for achieving the goal of “Unnata Tripura, Shreshtha Tripura” through sustained economic growth, modern infrastructure, quality education, accessible healthcare, digital transformation and inclusive governance. He emphasized that the roadmap seeks to accelerate development while ensuring that its benefits reach every section of society.

“The vision document is not merely a policy framework but a long-term commitment to the people of Tripura. It reflects our aspiration to build a prosperous, self-reliant and future-ready state,” the Chief Minister said.

Dr. Saha highlighted that the roadmap focuses on key sectors such as agriculture, industry, tourism, information technology, connectivity and skill development. Special emphasis has also been placed on creating employment opportunities for youth, strengthening social welfare programmes, reducing poverty and enhancing the ease of doing business to attract investments.

The Chief Minister noted that Tripura has made significant progress in recent years in areas such as infrastructure development, digital governance, healthcare services and educational reforms. The new vision document, he said, seeks to build on these achievements and prepare the state to meet future challenges and opportunities.

Calling for collective participation, Dr. Saha stressed that the success of Viksit Tripura 2047 would depend on the active involvement of citizens, civil society organizations, entrepreneurs, educational institutions and government agencies. He described the initiative as a people-centric development agenda designed to ensure sustainable growth and improved quality of life for future generations.

The unveiling of the vision document marks a significant milestone in Tripura’s development journey, positioning the state to align its long-term goals with the broader national objective of achieving a developed and globally competitive India by 2047.
