Imphal, August 16, 2025: Security forces in Manipur have continued their stringent search operations and area domination efforts in fringe and vulnerable zones across several districts, according to an update posted by Manipur Police early this morning.
During their latest operation at Ngariyan Chingyang in Imphal East District, personnel uncovered a cache of arms and ammunition, reflecting ongoing efforts to curb the circulation of illegal weapons in the conflict-prone region. The items recovered include:
• 1 double barrel 12-bore shotgun
• 1 INSAS LMG magazine
• 1 SLR rifle magazine
• 27 live rounds of 7.62mm SLR rifle ammunition
• 20 live rounds of 7.62mm AK rifle ammunition
• 3 live rounds of 9mm ammunition
• 3 tear smoke shells
• 1 soft nose tear smoke shell
• 1 cartridge of 38mm anti-riot rubber bullet
• 1 stun shell
• 17 empty 7.62mm cartridges
• 31 empty .303 rifle cartridges
• 2 empty 12-bore cartridges
Further, on August 14, security teams arrested four active members of the proscribed KCP (Taibanganba faction) from Langthabal Khunou under the jurisdiction of Khongjom Police Station in Thoubal district. The arrested include:
• Konjengbam Babita (45), Kodompokpi Mamang Leikai, Hiyangthang, Imphal West
• Lisham Premika Devi (33), Khongman Zone-II, Imphal East
• Nandeibam Noni Devi (53), Khongman Atom Leikai, Imphal East
• Heikham Ravi Meitei (38), Senjam Chirang Mayai Leikai, Lamsang, Imphal West
Items seized from the arrested individuals comprised five mobile handsets, ₹1,666 in cash, and two Aadhaar cards.

Manipur Police affirmed that such operations will persist in an effort to dismantle militant networks and enhance security ahead of upcoming national observances. Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities in their localities.
