Shillong, August 25: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Monday inaugurated the Youth Mela organized by the Chief Minister’s Youth Centre (CMYC), underscoring the government’s focus on nurturing grassroots development and creating opportunities for young people across the state.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said that development should not be viewed only through the lens of large-scale projects, but also through initiatives that empower youth, farmers, women, and rural entrepreneurs. “Through 64 CMYCs across Meghalaya, we are building free and open learning spaces to nurture innovation, skills, and self-learning in our communities,” Sangma stated.
The Youth Mela showcased the efforts of CMYCs in promoting creativity, innovation, skill-building, and entrepreneurship at the grassroots level. Participants from different blocks highlighted their projects, community initiatives, and local enterprise models supported by the Centre.
