GUWAHATI, Aug 21: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday chaired a high-level review meeting at the State Guest House, Koinadhora, to oversee preparations for the forthcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to the State.
The meeting reviewed security, logistics, and event arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the Prime Minister’s programmes. PM Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the country’s first bio-refinery at Numaligarh, lay the foundation stone for the Guwahati Ring Road from Mangaldoi, and inaugurate the Darrang Medical College and the Narengi–Kuruwa Bridge. He will also grace the inaugural ceremony of the birth centenary celebrations of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika.

The Chief Minister further informed that on August 29, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the newly constructed Raj Bhavan in Guwahati, address a Panchayat Sammelan, and participate in the centenary celebrations of late Golap Borbora, Assam’s former Chief Minister.
Directing officials to ensure the successful conduct of these high-profile events, Sarma also reviewed the State Government’s upcoming “Sewa Saptah” programme, which will be launched across Assam.
