The Deputy Chief Minister made the remarks after reviewing a comprehensive roadmap presented by the Department of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Dairy Development under the leadership of Animal Husbandry Minister Wangsu D.

During the review meeting, detailed discussions were held on measures to strengthen dairy infrastructure, expand milk collection and cold chain networks, improve livestock healthcare, and accelerate the growth of the dairy and poultry sectors across the state.

Mein emphasised the importance of building a sustainable model by learning from past experiences and addressing shortcomings in previous initiatives.

"We need to critically examine past initiatives, learn from our shortcomings, and develop a robust model that delivers sustainable outcomes," he said.

Reaffirming the state government's commitment to the sector, Mein assured the department of full support in implementing the proposed roadmap. He said the government's objective is to reduce Arunachal Pradesh's dependence on imported dairy and poultry products while creating better livelihood opportunities for farmers.

The Deputy Chief Minister said strengthening the livestock sector would not only improve food security but also boost rural incomes and contribute to the state's economic development.

He added that the government remains committed to empowering farmers through improved infrastructure, better veterinary services, and sustainable policies that promote self-reliance in dairy and poultry production.

"Together, we are committed to creating new opportunities for our farmers and strengthening Arunachal Pradesh's rural economy," Mein said.

The initiative forms part of the state government's broader efforts to enhance agricultural and allied sectors, improve rural livelihoods, and build a resilient, self-sufficient livestock economy in Arunachal Pradesh.
