Speaking at a programme in Agartala for distribution of appointment letters
to newly recruited employees under various departments, Saha said 115 more
candidates had received regular government job appointments on Thursday.
“Till date, after our government was formed in 2018, we have recruited
20,845, and today 115 people who are receiving their offer letters are new
additions to this. All these are regular jobs,” the Chief Minister said.
He further stated that another 24,078 people have been engaged through
contractual and outsourcing arrangements. According to Saha, several
contractual workers have later secured permanent positions through competitive
examinations.
The Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over the inclusion of a
significant number of women among the newly selected candidates.
Saha said the government has initiated the process of filling vacant posts
across departments, though financial limitations remain a challenge since
salaries fall under revenue expenditure.
He also claimed that the government is simultaneously focusing on capital
expenditure and infrastructure development, stating that projects worth nearly
Rs 10,000 crore are currently underway in the state.
Highlighting skill development and employment generation, Saha said India’s
employability rate has improved significantly since 2014. He stressed the
importance of continuous skill enhancement across all sectors.

assessments and reiterated the government’s commitment to transparency,
accountability and efficient public service delivery.
Referring briefly to political developments in neighbouring West Bengal, the Chief Minister criticised the outgoing government and said “a new dawn” had emerged in the state.
