During the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted several key issues related to the implementation of Central schemes and financial management. Referring to the newly introduced SNA-SPARSH financial management system for Central Scheme funds, Lalduhoma noted that some departments faced difficulties in closing accounts to zero balance at the end of the financial year. He urged all departments to remain vigilant to prevent similar issues in the future.

The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of coordination and convergence among departments implementing Central schemes, saying collaborative efforts had strengthened project outcomes and improved implementation efficiency.

He appreciated the Irrigation & Water Resources Department for successfully securing the release of long-pending Central funds and emphasised the need for proper follow-up of project proposals submitted to the Government of India. Lalduhoma stated that intervention through the Chief Minister’s DO letters could be utilised whenever necessary to expedite pending matters.

The meeting was informed that the proposed Mat Multipurpose Dam Project has now been prepared at an estimated cost of Rs. 274 crore. According to the proposal, the dam will have a height of 29 metres and is expected to irrigate around 700 hectares of agricultural land while also incorporating power generation and eco-tourism components. The Brahmaputra Board is expected to pursue funding support for the project.

Departments implementing Central schemes also presented their annual achievement reports for the financial year 2025–26. Under MGNREGA, a total of 62,193 households reportedly completed 100 days of employment during the year.

The meeting further reviewed PMAY-G 2.0 implementation, under which surveys identified 54,601 eligible beneficiary households in Mizoram. Officials also suggested revising current Central funding patterns to better suit local conditions in the state.
