Aizawl, May 14, 2026: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Thursday launched the Quarters Allotment Management System (QAMS) and the Mizoram House Online Reservation System, marking a major step towards digitisation of public services in the state.
The launch programme was held at the Chief Minister’s Conference Hall in Aizawl and organised under the General Administration Department (GAD). The two online platforms are designed to streamline the allotment of government quarters and reservation of accommodations at Mizoram Houses located outside the state.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the allotment process for government quarters had previously been managed manually through physical submission of applications and documents. Records were maintained individually, while the management of vacant quarters, retirements and related changes often caused delays and inconvenience for both applicants and officials.
He stated that the newly introduced online system would allow applicants to complete the entire process digitally without visiting government offices in person, thereby saving time and reducing administrative workload.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the benefits of the Mizoram House Online Reservation System, saying it would make booking accommodations easier for citizens, especially those residing outside Aizawl, by enabling online reservations from anywhere.
He appreciated the efforts of officials and staff of the General Administration Department, the ICT Department and the Mizoram State e-Governance Society for successfully developing the digital platforms.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to technology-driven governance, Lalduhoma said the state government is focused on making public services more accessible, transparent and citizen-friendly through digital initiatives. He added that the government aspires to gradually transform Mizoram into a fully digital state.

Meanwhile, the Mizoram House Online Reservation System, developed by the Mizoram State e-Governance Society, has already received 2,796 applications since its trial launch on March 2 this year, with accommodations allotted to 1,640 applicants even before its official inauguration.
The programme was chaired by Principal Secretary of GAD Pu Sudhir Kumar, while Deputy Commissioners and officials in charge of Mizoram Houses joined virtually. Secretary of ICT Dr. YNL Reddy delivered the vote of thanks.
