Manipur CM Inaugurates Water Supply Schemes in Langthabal, Reaffirms Govt Commitment to Water Access

Imphal, April 29, 2026: Manipur Minister Yumnam Khemchand inaugurated the augmentation of the Chajing Karam Water Supply Scheme and the Haoreibi Water Supply Scheme at Langthabal Assembly Constituency, dedicating the projects to the people of the area.

The inauguration was held in the presence of Langthabal MLA Shri K. Shyam Singh and other dignitaries. The projects aim to strengthen the supply of safe and reliable drinking water to households in the constituency.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Yumnam Khemchand said that access to clean drinking water is a fundamental necessity that protects public health, dignity and overall quality of life. He noted that the augmentation works would provide much-needed relief to residents by ensuring a more dependable water supply.

The Minister also stated that the projects address a long-standing demand of the local community and will significantly improve water availability for the residents of the area.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to development, he said the state government continues to prioritise essential services such as drinking water and aims to expand sustainable water supply coverage to every household across Manipur.

Officials said the upgraded water supply schemes are expected to strengthen infrastructure and contribute to improved living conditions in the Langthabal Assembly Constituency.
