In a statement issued on April 25, Arambai Tenggol described the claims as “baseless, wild and utterly unfounded.” The organisation said the allegations were part of a fabricated narrative intended to create instability and spread misinformation in the state.
Referring to tensions during the Shirui Lily Festival 2025, the group stated that some of its volunteers had unfurled a Salai Taret (Seven Clans) flag at Shirui Peak, which reportedly drew objections from members of the Tangkhul Naga community.
The organisation also claimed that since the 2013 Manipur ethnic tensions, Meitei individuals have not been permitted to pass through certain Kuki-inhabited areas, while Tangkhul Nagas also face restrictions while travelling through some villages.

Arambai Tenggol alleged that the accusations were aimed at misleading the public and spreading fear. It said such narratives distort facts and are used to justify violence and evade accountability.
The group reiterated that it categorically rejects the allegations and stated that attempts to manipulate public perception through misinformation would not alter the facts on the ground.
The statement was issued by Khaba Mangang, Control Room Operator of Arambai Tenggol GHQ.
