Addressing the gathering, Zeliang said Nagaland requires total transformation on all fronts and urged every Naga citizen to play an active role in the process. He stressed that transformation is a collective effort that demands not only the will of the government but also the participation and support of the people. “Together we can build a society that is strong, resilient, just, inclusive and prosperous,” he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister called on citizens to embrace change, foster a sense of community and work hand in hand with the government to ensure a sustainable and prosperous future. He expressed confidence that the changes underway would contribute to a more unified and progressive Naga society.
Highlighting key focus areas, Zeliang said ensuring peace and stability, fostering economic growth and infrastructure development, upgrading education and skill development, promoting Naga culture and identity, and improving health and social welfare were essential for ushering in an era of positive change.
Addressing the youth, he cautioned against relying solely on government employment and said the future of Nagaland depends on how creatively and responsibly young people use their education. He pointed to opportunities in entrepreneurship, agriculture and allied sectors, skill-based professions, small businesses and the private sector.
Emphasising the dignity of labour, Zeliang said success should not be measured only by securing government jobs, but by how youths contribute to society, create livelihoods and strengthen communities. He encouraged young people to become job creators rather than job seekers, and to embrace innovation, hard work and self-reliance.
