The occasion marked an important milestone in the history of New Tesen village, commemorating 75 years of growth, resilience, and community development. As part of the celebration, a commemorative monolith was unveiled, symbolising the village’s rich heritage and its aspirations for a progressive future.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Chief Minister Zeliang stressed the need for a comprehensive transformation of Nagaland across all sectors of society. He stated that meaningful progress could only be achieved through a collective effort involving both the government and the people. Emphasising shared responsibility, he urged citizens to actively participate in the state's development journey.

“Nagaland requires total transformation on all fronts, and every Naga citizen has a role to play in bringing about positive change,” he said. “Together we can build a society that is strong, resilient, just, inclusive, and prosperous.”

Zeliang encouraged citizens to embrace change while maintaining a strong sense of community and cultural identity. He expressed confidence that the ongoing developmental initiatives in the state would contribute to a more united, progressive, and economically vibrant Nagaland.

Highlighting the key pillars of transformation, the Deputy Chief Minister identified peace and stability, economic growth, infrastructure development, quality education, skill enhancement, cultural preservation, healthcare improvement, and social welfare as essential priorities. He said sustained efforts in these areas would help create opportunities for future generations and strengthen the overall well-being of society.

A significant portion of his address focused on the youth, whom he described as the driving force behind Nagaland’s future. Zeliang urged young people to move beyond the traditional mindset of seeking government jobs as the sole path to success. Instead, he encouraged them to explore entrepreneurship, agriculture and allied sectors, skill-based professions, private enterprises, and innovative business ventures.

“The future of Nagaland depends on how creatively and responsibly our youth use their education and talents,” he said. “Success should not be measured solely by obtaining government employment but by the ability to contribute meaningfully to society, create livelihoods, and strengthen communities.”

He further emphasised the dignity of labour and called upon young people to become job creators rather than job seekers. By embracing innovation, self-reliance, and hard work, he said, the younger generation could play a transformative role in building a stronger economy and a more prosperous state.

He called upon villagers to renew their commitment to peace, unity, and collective responsibility as they look toward the future.
