Manipur CM Reaffirms Resolve to Restore Normalcy, Overcome Challenges Amid Manipur Unrest

Imphal, February 8: Manipur new Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand on Sunday reaffirmed his commitment to restoring peace and normalcy in the state, stating that he remains resolute in overcoming the challenges faced by citizens amid the prevailing unrest.

The Chief Minister offered prayers at Ima Keithel Lairembi at Khwairamband Market, seeking divine blessings to fulfil the aspirations of the people. Emphasising unity and harmony, Khemchand said his efforts are guided by the faith and trust reposed in him, with the larger goal of building a peaceful and inclusive society where all communities coexist with mutual respect.

Following the prayer visit, Khemchand conducted an on-site inspection of ongoing road construction works at Thangal Bazaar along with MLAs Kh. Joykishan Singh and S. Nishikanta Singh. Discussions during the inspection focused on improving the quality of construction, enhancing area beautification, and ensuring cleanliness for greater public convenience.

The chief minister also inspected the Nambul River bank, where deliberations centred on strengthening riverbank protection and undertaking comprehensive beautification measures. Further discussions were held on planned improvements at Waisel Maril, aimed at upgrading urban infrastructure while addressing environmental concerns.

Reiterating the government’s priorities, Khemchand said sustained development, peace restoration, and public welfare remain central to efforts to bring stability and normal life back to Manipur.
